My fellow artists abandon our project. The exhibition has no meaning for them, art for art’s sake. L’atelier des artists in exil needs “the object” of art to show to sponsors in order to raise and continue helping.

In the end, the public builds the tent in two stages, during the three-day Open Studio “Exil” organizes in its workshops, guided in the use of sewing machines. And the second stage during the exhibition at the Cité Internationale des art, in Montmartre, joining pieces with pins.

The tent reaches the margins of the room and closes itself leaving the embroidered self-portraits that it houses, and gave it meaning, out of sight.
